Parent Participation Program (PPP)
Parent Participation
CMS is truly "ours" and parent involvement is an integral part of the school's success. Recent years have seen tremendous changes to the outside area with the addition of a playground, planting of fruit trees, cultivation of the garden and the addition of three sheds for gardening, mail boxes and storage of school equipment.

The PPP, begun in 1997 to promote family involvement in the school, keeps the tuition affordable and purchases equipment and materials improving the program. Recent monies raised by PPP activities and donations helped pay for:
-
New tables and chairs for classroom
-
New climbing equipment for the playground
-
Paved tricycle/basketball area
-
Maintain Montessori materials for the classroom
Current Goals
-
Installation of climbing equipment on playground
-
Constructing enclosed patio area outside elementary classroom
-
Maintain Montessori materials for the classroom

Program Details
The PPP is based on a point system. Each task, role or level of participation is awarded a specific number of points. Each family is expected to earn at least 80 points during the school year. This value is per family, and does not increase for families with multiple children enrolled.
Points earned are tracked by the Points Coordinator. While activity coordinators will report points earned, each family should also report their points to the Points Coordinator to make sure they are recorded in an accurate and timely manner. Each point is valued at $12.
Families may choose to make a monetary payment in lieu of earning points. The full year points commitment is worth $960. Unfulfilled points commitments will be invoiced at $12 per point at the end of the school year.
The accompanying PPP List of events and activities and the number of points given for each is not exhaustive; if you have an activity or something to donate, please present your idea/donation in writing to the PTC officers.

Please note that participation in The Electronic Fundraising Program is required (in the same way as the tuition payment) and points are not awarded for participation in this program. However, the coordinator of the electronic fundraising program does earn points as does signing up other families, relatives, neighbors, etc.

If you have any questions about the Parent Participation Program in general or specific questions relating to earning points or your point balance, please do not hesitate to contact the PPP Coordinator.
Thank you for your support!
